LONDON

Join us for the next in our 'In Conversation' series on Monday, April 28th, from 9am to 11am at Where the Pancakes Are, Battersea.

We're taking the stress out of lease handling and negotiation for restaurants. Expect a fun, insightful chat with the brilliant team at CBG Law, Managing Partner Sammi Hsu and Associate Solicitor, Karen Walsh, CEO & founder of Where the Pancakes Are Patricia Trijbits, and Associate Partner at Kenningham Retail, Hannah Barter.

We’ll dive into what it takes to be an owner-operator on the hunt for a site; from dealing with agents and landlords to understanding heads of terms, the legal process involved and knowing the right questions to ask.

You'll walk away with the buzzwords, tools, and confidence to secure a space of your own, or support someone else on their journey.

There will also be the opportunity for a private tour of Battersea Power Station for up to 20 guests. If you are interested in the tour, please email natalia@ladiesofrestaurants.com to secure your spot.

All are welcome, breakfast buffet included!
Please RSVP to secure your spot.

EDINBURGH

This one’s not for agencies or big budgets, it’s for the independent restaurants, side hustlers, and solo hospitality heroes who are doing it all and just need a little support to make their brand shine.

Join us for an inspiring and practical session all about you, your brand, and how to bring it to life through the power of social media with Anna McManus, Brand Design Director for S+Co, and Sound Bite PR Senior Digital Account Executive and content creator Tim Drew.

We’ll explore how to tell your story in a way that connects. From building a clear brand identity to turning everyday moments into content that builds trust and community. This is real talk for real people, packed with practical tips, creative inspo, and space to ask all the questions.

Perfect for anyone in hospitality looking to grow their presence, boost confidence, and create scroll-stopping content, all from the palm of your hand.

We’re getting together the way we do best - with drinks, snacks, and great people. And we’d love you to be there.

This isn’t just a hangout (though it will be a good one) - we’re also kicking off our first-ever chapter of LOR Hosts right here in Edinburgh.

Hosts are our way of growing the LOR community from the inside out - a crew of local legends who help keep the momentum going, connect the dots, and spread the good word of hospitality. Think of it as an extension of Natalia Ribbe - because as much as she’d love to be everywhere at once, well... she’s only human.

So, we’re starting here. If you’re curious, community-minded, and want to be part of what’s next, come along and hear what it’s all about.

No speeches. No pressure. Just a good time and the start of something exciting. Drinks from Holyrood Distillery & Pilot Beer, and an oyster bar + snacks by the team at Margot!

COMING SOON

It all started…

in 2015 when one woman wanted to get a collective of women she knew from the industry together for a drink down the pub to connect and commiserate. The email ended with ‘last week someone tried to chat me up, someone told me I was "f***ing shit" to my face and someone else told me if I don't vote Tory I'm an idiot - I need a little motivation.’ It was fair to say those of us on that group email laughed out loud, shed a small tear and immediately put the date in our diary to meet.

Since that fateful email LOR has grown from sipping pints down the pub, to hosting events across the UK in Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Brighton and one very special trip to Helsinki. We have covered topics such as; guilt, career progression, confidence, mental health, race, parenthood and more.

LOR is a community and a place to learn, grow, have fun and feel supported.

It’s for ladies living that hospitality life.

What is LOR?

LOR is a community designed to inspire, support, and empower. Our mission is to build confidence, develop skills, and drive career progression, helping more women enter and thrive in the hospitality industry.

We achieve this by hosting events, workshops, training sessions, and networking opportunities, all while fostering a strong, supportive community.

We are advocates for a more equitable and sustainable industry—and we celebrate women every step of the way.

Why is LOR needed?

Hospitality is the UK’s third-largest employer, with women representing approximately 60% of the workforce in the UK. LOR recognises the unique needs of women working in this industry, from the struggle to achieve a manageable work-life balance, to safety concerns, and the ways that gender bias can impact career progression.

Our Goals

  • Community - Fostering a strong and supportive community sits at the core of LOR’s work. Both online and off, we create space for women to connect and support each other through events, networking opportunities, and, soon, a digital community platform.

  • Knowledge Sharing - Everyone brings something to the table and there is power in our collective wisdom. Through online resources, education and workshops focused on a range of topics, including ingredients and sourcing, business, and people management, we give our community members the tools they need to grow and thrive in their careers.

  • Leadership - Women are vastly underrepresented in leadership roles across the hospitality industry, occupying just 20% of these positions in the UK. At LOR, we work in pursuit of a stronger, happier, and balanced hospitality industry. We envision a future that champions women as confident leaders and role models within the food and beverage industry and ultimately supports them in building the fulfilling hospitality careers that they deserve.
